چکیده
The corrosion resistance of high entropy alloys was reviewed in the present work. main focus to explore correlation between alloy composition, passive film stability and properties use this information develop a materials selection procedure based on Ashby approach. Corrosion current densities pitting potentials were design parameters used rank different alloys, careful examination data published literature, considering uniform localized corrosion, respectively. outputs process clearly indicated strong dependence stability, although microstructural homogeneity distribution alloying elements should not be disregarded. Proper combinations such as Co, Al, Ti, Mo Cr, especially, are effective at enhancing alloys.

Correlation between electronic and corrosion properties of the passive oxide film on nitinol.
The oxide film (TiO(2)) was formed on Nitinol potentiostatically in an acetic acid solution. Deep understanding of electronic properties of this film is needed to predict long-term corrosion properties of Nitinol implant material in simulated body fluid conditions. The capacitance measurements were performed under depletion conditions to study electronic (semiconducting) properties. The space c...
متن کاملHigh Temperature Oxidation and Corrosion Properties of High Entropy Superalloys
The present work investigates the high temperature oxidation and corrosion behaviour of high entropy superalloys (HESA). A high content of various solutes in HESA leads to formation of complex oxides, however the Cr and Al activities of HESA are sufficient to promote protective chromia or alumina formation on the surface. By comparing the oxidation and corrosion resistances of a Ni-based supera...
متن کاملEffects of chemical composition on the corrosion of dental alloys.
The aim of this study was to determine the effect of the oral environment on the corrosion of dental alloys with different compositions, using electrochemical methods. The corrosion rates were obtained from the current-potential curves and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). The effect of artificial saliva on the corrosion of dental alloys was dependent on alloy composition. Dissoluti...
متن کاملAlloying and Processing Effects on the Aqueous Corrosion Behavior of High-Entropy Alloys
The effects of metallurgical factors on the aqueous corrosion behavior of highentropy alloys (HEAs) are reviewed in this article. Alloying (e.g., Al and Cu) and processing (e.g., heat treatments) effects on the aqueous corrosion behavior of HEAs, including passive film formation, galvanic corrosion, and pitting corrosion, are discussed in detail. Corrosion rates of HEAs are calculated using ele...
متن کاملMitigation of Corrosion on Magnesium Alloy by Predesigned Surface Corrosion
Rapid corrosion of magnesium alloys is undesirable in structural and biomedical applications and a general way to control corrosion is to form a surface barrier layer isolating the bulk materials from the external environment. Herein, based on the insights gained from the anticorrosion behavior of corrosion products, a special way to mitigate aqueous corrosion is described. The concept is based...
